Jr. Sous Chef - Amaru

Position Overview

Kitchen Leadership

• Supervise and coordinate cooks and kitchen workers and assist with kitchen tasks and supplies.
• Determine food presentation, create decorative displays, and ensure proper portions, arrangement, garnish, quality, and quantity.
• Inform food and beverage staff about menu specials and unavailable menu items.

Food Control and Safety

• Prepare special meals and provide cooks with needed items.
• Monitor kitchen supplies and food stock, maintain food safety and product logs, and notify the manager about products that do not meet specifications.

Team and Compliance Duties

• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching.
• Follow company, safety, security, confidentiality, and quality policies and report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
• Maintain professional appearance and communication, address guest needs, support team goals, and perform other reasonable duties.

Preferred Qualifications

• A technical, trade, or vocational school degree is preferred.
• Four to six years of related work experience is preferred.
• At least two years of supervisory experience is preferred.
• No license or certification is listed.

Physical Requirements

• The role requires extended periods of standing, sitting, or walking and reaching overhead and below the knees.
• The employee must be able to bend, twist, pull, stoop, and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
