Position summary

Supervise and coordinate cooks and kitchen workers in a hotel food and beverage operation.

Ensure food presentation, portioning, garnishing, quality, stock control, and food safety standards.

Schedule and location

  • The position is full time and not remote.
  • The role is located at the Conference Centre Street property in West Bay, Doha, Qatar.

Kitchen responsibilities

  • Supervise cooks and kitchen workers.
  • Create decorative food displays and ensure proper portions, arrangement, and garnishing.
  • Monitor food quantities, menu specials, and unavailable menu items.
  • Prepare special meals or substitute items.
  • Assist kitchen staff and provide needed supplies.
  • Monitor kitchen and food stock.
  • Maintain food safety and product logs.
  • Check food quality and report products that do not meet specifications.

People and safety responsibilities

  • Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching.
  • Follow company, safety, and security policies and report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain professional appearance, confidentiality, company asset protection, guest service, and positive working relationships.
  • Complete required safety training and certifications.

Preferred qualifications

  • Technical, trade, or vocational school degree is preferred.
  • Four to six years of related work experience is preferred.
  • At least two years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • No license or certification is specified.

Physical requirements

The role requires extended standing, sitting, or walking and frequent reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

The role requires moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
