Duties:
The primary focus of the position is to use functional requirements and design documents provided by senior programmers, or written with the help of senior programmers in order to design, development, and implement various applications developed at TRIUMF. This position is involved with system maintenance and development, data transaction, data merge, system supporting, upgrade and integration. This position can be renewed for another 4-month term after the first term ended.
Skills Learned During This Work Experience: Skills required include experience developing with Java, python, PHP, node.js and various supporting technologies including web server platforms(Tomcat, Glassfish, Wildfly, Docker), web service development (SOAP and RESTFUL), AI(OpenAI Api,Power BI and Copilot for Power BI), Microservices , Kubernetes, testing, source code control and build processes.
Qualifications: • The incumbent must have strong problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as initiative, creativity and the ability to work with abstract concepts. • Expertise in applicable development technologies including Java, Python, node.js, Javascript, Git/GitLab, Maven build manager, Jira issue and project tracker, Glassfish application servers, IDE, JSF application, Spring / Spring root, Microsoft Azure, Azure Cloud Services, Gitlab, DevOps and component libraries. • Experience working with databases such as MS SQL Server, Postgres and MySQL using JDBC and SQL query tools is required.
• Experience working with building and consuming RESTful APIs, have basic knowledge about calling OpenAI Api and using Power BI and Copilot for Power BI. • A basic familiarity with a scientific research environment and terminology, particularly in physics, would assist the incumbent in developing and understanding applications related to the Science Program.

Salary is commensurate with academic progress and previous relevant work experience, and ranges from $ 2815 to $ 4238 per month including 4% vacation pay.
