Journeyman Software Developer - SECRET

We are looking for engineers to join our US Marine Corps advance technology development team.

We are in search of a computer science major, with 3 years or more experience with software code, optimize and build updated code fixes for speed and efficiency in an R&D setting.

This position has a key responsibility in running a test bench lab and ensuring testing is smooth.

We need you to join us on the ground floor of some of the latest programs.

To create code and fix defects using an Agile process for a complex component of this weapon system using the software development life and test cycle.

To measure the computer processing time usage and come up with better methods of storage space utilization, network loading and process throughput for the DoD Program Office.

To enable designing, coding and maintenance of software support tools, testing and models.

Primary work location will be in Fredericksburg, VA or Dahlgren, VA (with occasional telecommute or travel opportunities.) We are fun, collaborative, supportive and our goal is to find great people who want to stay hands on in development yet have input in process improvements.

Comprehensive knowledge in definition and management of software requirements, design, code, benchmark testing, debugging, software development lifecycle, architecture, and documentation.

Plans, performs, and software design, coding, and testing.

US Citizen AND Bachelor’s Degree (in one of these in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or Related Field) and 3 years of experience or Masters in one of these degrees and 2 years of experience.

Two years of program/project level experience of software design and:

Two years of experience performing detailed and complex software design and development meeting sub millisecond timing requirements;

Security clearance: ability to obtain a secret (no clearance required to apply).

US Citizenship is required for employment.

C++ or C# 2 years (Preferred)

in an Agile software development environment and methodologies

Atlassian tool suites, Jira (for issue tracking) and Confluence (decision tracking);

Source code tracking tools (i.e.

Git, Bitbucket)

The candidate will need to obtain Security+ within 2 months of starting the position

The position offers a starting bonus of $2,000, contingent upon the earliest possible start date
