This position will be full-time located at our Addison, TX facilities with occasional travel potentially required (approximately 30%).
Position Details: As a Journeyman Electrician at Firehawk Aerospace, you will play a critical role in both building new company facilities and maintaining our current ones.
You will work closely with all teams and be part of critical projects.
This position requires strong hands-on skills, ability to complete projects ii a timely manner, and capability to solve problems.
Responsibilities
- Running wiring, setting up conduit, and installing fixtures, panels, transformers, and circuit breakers in commercial and industrial settings.
- Using multimeters, circuit testers, and other specialized tools to diagnose electrical faults and safely repair them.
- Interpreting complex technical diagrams and schematics to map out electrical layouts while strictly adhering to safety and building codes.
- Maintaining a safe job site by following OSHA guidelines, identifying potential hazards, and testing systems to ensure everything operates correctly.
- Taking part in electrical and other facility projects from the design phase to procurement of all materials and until the buildout is complete Basic Qualifications
- Valid Texas Journeyman license and ability to reference code book when needed.
- Must be able to calculate loads for new structures including transocket size, disconnect size, transformer size and panel size according to equipment loads per NEC.
- Knowledge of 3 phase 480v, 240v, 208v, 120v electrical systems.
- Experience in installation of Class 1, Div.1&2 including: Cutting and threading rigid conduit up to 2’’ GRC, installing seal offs at appropriate locations, installing switches and receptacles, making terminations at equipment, panels, transformers, disconnect switches, lighting, and devices. Bending GRC on a triple nickel.
- Experience in general electrical systems including: Installation of panels, transformers, disconnects, lighting, receptacles, bending EMT up to 1’’ with hand benders, pulling wire with comprehension of wire numbers and colors, installation of light fixtures, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repairing electrical systems Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and general machine repair.
- Willing to learn and expand knowledge in the aerospace industry including but not limited to static electricity and combustible dust ITAR Requirements: To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S.
Department
of State. Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require minimal walking, standing for extended amounts of time, climbing, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. Security Clearance: May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Requires U.S. Citizenship. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
