Responsibilities
- Oversee day to day operations of the woodworking workshop, ensuring high quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Supervise joinery teams, assign tasks, monitor progress, and support skill development.
- Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and designers to interpret technical drawings and plan production schedules.
- Ensure effective use of materials and resources.
- Inspect finished joinery, resolve technical issues, and enforce health and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of work, equipment, and inventory.
- Drive continuous improvement of processes and support adherence to project timelines.
Requirements
- Strong joinery and woodworking skills, including experience with furniture, fixtures, and bespoke interior fit out elements.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience leading workshop or site teams.
- Knowledge of production planning, material handling, and resource allocation within a joinery or manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards relevant to workshop and construction activities.
- Familiarity with woodworking machinery, tools, and equipment, including safe operation and basic maintenance.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain quality under time constraints.
- Minimum of a technical diploma or trade certification in joinery, carpentry, or a related field.
- Previous experience in interior fit out or construction projects in the GCC region, particularly Dubai, is preferred.
- Basic computer literacy for reporting, documentation, and communication; familiarity with MS Office or similar tools.
