Responsibilities
- Oversee all joinery operations and ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification
- Manage production schedules, coordinate with project managers, designers, and contractors
- Supervise workshop staff to maintain quality, safety, and efficiency
- Review technical drawings, allocate materials and resources, monitor workflow across dual shifts
- Perform quality control checks and update stakeholders on project status
- Enforce health and safety standards and optimize processes to reduce waste and improve productivity
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of joinery production, custom furniture manufacturing, and fit out workflows, including materials, finishes, and fabrication techniques
- Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, shop drawings, and specifications
- Proven team leadership and people management skills
- Project and operations management capabilities, including scheduling, resource planning, and stakeholder coordination
- Sound understanding of quality control and health and safety practices in a manufacturing or joinery environment
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in joinery or carpentry management, preferably within a high volume, deadline driven environment
- Relevant technical qualification or diploma in carpentry, joinery, interior fit out, or a related field
- Familiarity with basic production software, MS Office, and digital documentation tools

Role Description
- The Joinery Manager is a full time, on site role based in Dubai, responsible for overseeing all joinery operations and ensuring projects are delivered on time and to specification.
- Managing production schedules, coordinating with project managers, designers, and contractors, and supervising workshop staff to maintain quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Reviewing technical drawings, allocating materials and resources, monitoring workflow across dual shifts, and resolving operational issues quickly.
- Daily tasks also involve quality control checks, updating stakeholders on project status, enforcing health and safety standards, and optimizing processes to reduce waste and improve productivity.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to maintaining Al Zan’s reputation for reliable, friction free delivery.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of joinery production, custom furniture manufacturing, and fit out workflows, including materials, finishes, and fabrication techniques.
- Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, shop drawings, and specifications, with the ability to translate them into clear production plans.
- Proven team leadership and people management skills, including supervising workshop staff, assigning tasks, and managing performance and training.
- Project and operations management capabilities, including scheduling, resource planning, monitoring timelines, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Sound understanding of quality control and health and safety practices in a manufacturing or joinery environment.
- Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages commonly used in the UAE workforce is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in joinery or carpentry management, preferably within a high volume, deadline driven environment.
- Relevant technical qualification or diploma in carpentry, joinery, interior fit out, or a related field; vocational training or trade certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with basic production software, MS Office, and digital documentation tools for tracking jobs and reporting.
