Join Ascendion as a Java Software Engineer supporting a banking technology team.
Develop, modernize, and optimize enterprise applications for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Location and Work Arrangement
- The role is based in Chester, UK.
- This is a full-time hybrid role requiring three days per week on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Restructure and modernize existing applications to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Perform JVM tuning and performance optimization.
- Analyze application performance and identify bottlenecks.
- Design and implement robust, production-quality solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering and technology teams to deliver application improvements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
Key Requirements
- Strong Java development experience is required.
- Excellent Spring Boot experience is required.
- Hands-on experience with JVM tuning and performance optimization is required.
- Proven experience with application restructuring or modernization is required.
- Strong understanding of application architecture and software engineering principles is required.
- Experience with large-scale production applications is required.
- Banking or financial services experience is highly desirable.
