Creospan is looking for a Java Backend Developer to design, develop, and support high-performance backend services.

Required Skills
- Core and Advanced Java, including Java 8-17 features, are required.
- Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring WebFlux, Spring JDBC, and Spring AOP are required.
- The role requires CompletableFuture, asynchronous programming, reactive programming, and microservices experience.
- The role requires REST API design, error handling, validation, security, and service integration knowledge.
- JUnit, Mockito, GitHub branching, pull requests, and CI/CD experience are required.
- Strong debugging, performance tuning, Linux/Unix, and Apache Tomcat knowledge are required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in financial services, investment operations, accounting, reconciliation, or asset servicing is preferred.
- Experience modernizing legacy or mission-critical enterprise applications is preferred.
- Exposure to AS400/IBM i and DB2 is preferred.
- Azure or AWS experience and Docker or Kubernetes exposure are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable Java applications, REST APIs, and microservices.
- Build reactive or asynchronous services with Spring WebFlux and CompletableFuture where appropriate.
- Translate functional requirements and legacy behavior into maintainable Java components.
- Develop database access layers and optimize application-to-database interactions.
- Create unit, integration, and component tests.
- Review code and promote secure coding and engineering best practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and improve performance and stability.
- Contribute to CI/CD automation, deployments, monitoring, releases, and operational documentation.
- Collaborate with architects, analysts, QA, operations, support, and business stakeholders, and mentor junior developers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience.
- Strong knowledge of Core and Advanced Java, including Java 8-17 features.
- Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring WebFlux, Spring JDBC, and Spring AOP.
- Experience with asynchronous and reactive programming, CompletableFuture, and microservices.
- Experience designing REST APIs, including error handling, validation, security, and service integration.
