Applications are invited for the position of IT Team Leader within the Corporate Apps - Data Engineering, Group IT. The Data Platform is hosted in Microsoft Azure collocating data from multiple sources across the NFUM’s enterprise to enable collaboration and a single source for the company to analyse, model and report against – moving away from our traditional on-premise data sources.
We are looking for a service focussed, Team Leader who can help establish and lead a new IT Data Platform team and drive excellence in our Integration service. The IT Data Platform team will comprise both developers and a BAU support function The role includes
Reviewing and leading the delivery of new cloud-based data integration solutions, managing the co-ordination and delivery of technical change, within an Agile Framework, and developing and accepting new applications and changes into our BAU service. This will require the candidate to engage with and coordination across both IT and business teams in a fast paced. Some key accountabilities will include:
Proactively lead the team driving adherence to Service Level Agreements and co-ordinating any activity that impacts or affects the Data Platform service ensuring the daily IT health checks are completed and managing any service impacting incidents. • Proactively engage with our NFUM business management teams, 3rd party IT suppliers and all IT service delivery teams in order to deliver service excellence.
Identify, document, and resolve Vulnerabilities and Risk and Issues in accordance with the companies' priorities.
Review the Data Platform IT service on a regular basis which will include collating and presenting service reports to both internal and external service partners. • Motivate and develop the team, helping them to mature their technical, problem solving and communication skills ensuring the team deliver a high-quality service to our IT colleagues, Service partners and the NFUM business throughout the ITIL lifecycle. • Manage all Data Platform service-related IT change and resource requests in line with change and project demands. • Represent the service in Go/No Go and major incident meetings and be responsible for approving IT changes affecting the Data Platform service. • Lead and co-ordinate all audit and control attestation activities within the department in line with IT governance requirements. • Support a small number of release weekends and service upgrades throughout the year. • Plan and prioritise multiple items of Business Change and PPC work and co-ordinate resource requests to ensure tasks are delivered to meet deadlines and quality and controls standards. • The role requires engagement with internal IT teams, business users and external suppliers so the successful candidate must have strong communication skills. • Be required to meet personal performance objectives and KPIs. We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Team Leader with a desire to work and thrive in a fast paced, dynamic, evolving environment helping to build and lead a team of data focussed Cloud specialists. An understanding of Agile development methodology and experience operating in an Agile development environment would be advantageous. Awareness and understanding of the Azure Data environment would be desirable but a full training package will be provided.
The successful candidate will have some experience operating in a service focussed environment and be confident in your ability to lead, facilitate, advise, and support your service team using appropriate expertise to deliver service excellence putting your customers experience to the fore.
You will be a good negotiator with the skill to swiftly resolve conflict and you will have an ability to mentor and coach your team members so that they understand the requirements of Agile delivery and are encouraged and supported to fulfil their potential.
This role is a Level 4 which includes an annual bonus of up to 17.5% and 25 days holiday
