The IT Systems and Database Support Engineer supports server infrastructure, SQL Server databases, backups, system applications, and day-to-day technical issues.

Server administration
- Install, configure, maintain, and monitor Windows and Linux servers.
- Monitor CPU, RAM, disk space, and system health.
- Troubleshoot server hardware and software issues.
- Manage Windows services, user access, permissions, scheduled tasks, and physical and virtual server environments.
SQL Server administration
- Install and configure Microsoft SQL Server.
- Perform database backup and restore operations and support database maintenance.
- Monitor database size, performance, and disk utilization.
- Troubleshoot basic SQL Server errors and connectivity issues.
- Assist developers and application teams with database-related issues.
Backup and data protection
- Monitor daily server and database backups and verify completion and availability.
- Perform test restorations when required and maintain backup records.
- Ensure backup storage availability and escalate backup failures and critical database issues.
Application and ERP support
- Provide technical support for ERP, POS, WMS, and other business applications.
- Coordinate with software vendors on application-related issues.
- Troubleshoot database connectivity and application-server issues.
- Assist with application installation, configuration, and updates.
Network and IT support
- Provide basic network troubleshooting support.
- Check connectivity between servers, POS systems, PCs, and network devices.
- Troubleshoot IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and remote-access issues.
- Monitor and escalate network-related problems when required.
Experience and qualifications
- The role requires 2–4 years of relevant experience in system administration, server support, database support, or IT infrastructure.
- Practical knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, SQL Server installation and configuration, basic SQL queries, backup and restore, monitoring, and troubleshooting is required.
- The preferred profile is hands-on and able to independently handle VMware and SQL-related tasks.
- The candidate should coordinate with vendors or senior IT staff for complex issues.
- A driving license is required.
Compensation
- Pay is AED 2,079.94–9,522.86 per month.
Employment and workplace
