The Opportunity
Nicholson Manufacturing is seeking an IT Support Specialist for its Sidney, British Columbia operation.
The role provides most day-to-day IT support on site in Sidney and remote support for a sister division in Surrey.
The specialist will help the IT manager and Systems Administrator maintain and improve network and server infrastructure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide in-person and ticketing-system support to employees.
- Set up workstations, monitors, phones, software, and hardware.
- Monitor, maintain, and update end-user devices.
- Troubleshoot workstations, printers, servers, and network devices.
- Maintain internal documentation and take ownership of small service-improvement projects.
- Help maintain stable and secure infrastructure and perform other assigned IT duties.
Qualifications and Experience
- A three-year degree in Computer Science is listed as a qualification.
- At least three years of working experience and IT support experience are required.
- Experience with Windows operating systems is required.
- Understanding of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, networking, and server virtualization is required.
- Understanding of cloud services and applications such as Microsoft 365 and Azure is required.
- The candidate must be a self-starter, proactive, able to document technical information, and capable of solving problems.
Compensation and Benefits
- The position offers $70,000 to $75,000 per year and a benefits package.
- Benefits include dental, extended health, vision care, an employee assistance program, RRSP matching, company events, casual dress, and on-site parking.

- Work location is hybrid remote in Sidney, British Columbia.
- The position requires reliable commuting to or relocation before starting in Sidney.
