Overview
An **IT Support Specialist** is responsible for helping individuals and organizations use technology effectively by troubleshooting issues, maintaining systems, and providing technical assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- **Technical Support:** Assist users with hardware, software, and network problems (in person, phone, or remote).
- **Troubleshooting:** Diagnose and resolve issues related to computers, printers, internet connectivity, and applications.
- **System Maintenance:** Install, configure, and update operating systems, software, and security tools.
- **User Account Management:** Create and manage user accounts, passwords, and permissions.
- **Documentation:** Record issues, solutions, and procedures for future reference.
- **Equipment Setup:** Set up new computers, devices, and peripherals for employees.
- **Security Support:** Help maintain cybersecurity by installing antivirus software and ensuring safe usage practices.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux)
- Basic networking knowledge (LAN, Wi-Fi, routers)
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Familiarity with common software (Microsoft Office, email systems)
