IT Support Specialist

The City of Dalton is currently accepting applications for the position of IT Support Specialist.

This is a full-time, hourly position.

The IT Support Specialist technician will support all the end users and their systems.

He or she will address any issues that an end user might have.

Associate’s degree in computer science (preferred but not required).

CompTIA A+ and/or Network+ Certification (preferred but not required). 1–3 years of customer service.

Strong knowledge of computers, printers, and mobile devices.

Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols.

Some experience with scripting in Visual Basic, JavaScript, and basic HTML.

Some knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including knowledge bases, security, and data protection.

Typical Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., subject to being on call for certain tasks.

The starting pay is $29 per hour, with the rate based on experience.
