Role Description

  • The IT Support Officer is a part time hybrid role based in Dubai, with the flexibility to complete some tasks from home.
  • The role involves providing day to day technical support for desktop computers, printers, and basic IT infrastructure used by chapter members and staff.
  • Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, installing and updating systems, and ensuring smooth operation of devices during events, workshops, and meetings.
  • The IT Support Officer will maintain records of support requests, coordinate with vendors or senior IT contacts when needed, and proactively monitor equipment performance.
  • The role also includes assisting in setting up audiovisual and network access for chapter activities and promoting best practices for data security and system usage.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Technical Support and Troubleshooting skills for resolving common hardware and software issues.
  • Candidates should possess foundational Information Technology knowledge, including operating systems, basic networking, and security best practices.
  • Candidates should possess hands on experience with Desktop Computers, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Candidates should possess practical Printer Support skills, such as setup, driver installation, and resolving print errors.
  • Candidates should demonstrate clear verbal and written communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non technical users.
  • Candidates should be organized, able to manage multiple support requests, and comfortable working independently in a hybrid environment.
  • Relevant coursework or certification in IT, computer science, or related fields is beneficial; prior experience in a support or helpdesk role is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with supporting IT needs for events, workshops, or educational institutions is a plus.
