Responsibilities
- Provide day to day technical support for staff, including diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues
- Assist with network connectivity
- Ensure workstations and related peripherals are functioning reliably
- Handle desktop computer setup and maintenance
- Printer installation and support
- Perform basic IT administration tasks such as user access, updates, and backups
- Document support requests and maintain an organized ticketing or issue tracking system
- Proactively monitor systems to minimize disruptions to research and business activities

- Strong Technical Support and Troubleshooting skills
- Solid Information Technology fundamentals, including familiarity with operating systems, basic networking, and security best practices
- Practical experience with Desktop Computers, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance optimization
- Printer Support capabilities, including setup, connectivity, driver management, and resolving printing errors
- Relevant qualifications such as a diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Effective communication skills, customer focused mindset, and ability to explain technical issues in clear, accessible language
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests

Role Description
- The IT Support Officer is a part time role based in Dubai with a hybrid work arrangement, combining onsite work at the laboratory with some work from home flexibility.
- The role involves providing day to day technical support for staff, including diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, assisting with network connectivity, and ensuring workstations and related peripherals are functioning reliably.
- The IT Support Officer will handle desktop computer setup and maintenance, printer installation and support, and basic IT administration tasks such as user access, updates, and backups.
