Role Description

  • This part time IT Support Officer role is based in Dubai in a hybrid arrangement, combining on site work at PJ Bowers’ local operations with some work from home flexibility.
  • The IT Support Officer will provide day to day technical support for desktop computers, printers, and related hardware, ensuring systems are functioning efficiently and securely.
  • Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving technical issues, managing user accounts and access, installing and updating software, and maintaining asset records.
  • The role will also involve monitoring network and system performance, escalating complex incidents to senior IT personnel or external vendors, and supporting staff with basic IT training and guidance.
  • The IT Support Officer will collaborate with internal teams to ensure minimal downtime and a smooth technology environment that supports manufacturing and office operations.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Technical Support and Information Technology for end user and infrastructure environments.
  • Candidates should possess effective Troubleshooting skills to diagnose, analyze, and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Candidates should possess practical experience with Desktop Computers, including setup, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Candidates should possess Printer Support skills, including installation, configuration, and routine maintenance of networked and local printers.
  • Candidates should possess good communication and customer service skills to support users in a clear, patient, and professional manner.
  • Candidates should possess basic knowledge of networking concepts, operating systems (e.g., Windows), and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Candidates should possess strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple support requests in a fast paced environment.
  • A relevant IT certification or diploma (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL fundamentals, or similar) and prior experience in a support role are beneficial.
