IT Intern

SMMA is seeking a student intern to join our Information Technology team in 2027.

This internship will be 6 months total, from January to June 2027.

• VoIP network with Microsoft Teams Phone
• Lenovo ThinkPad laptops running Windows 11
• Windows hosted desktops
• Core applications: Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Microsoft 365

The candidate will be directly responsible for providing end-user support to a staff of around 200 Architects, Engineers, System Planners and Interior Designer’s at two office locations.

This position is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience with industry-standard computer hardware and software applications.

Special projects may be assigned.

This is a full-time, in-office position based at our Cambridge, MA office.

• Acting as the first responder in our IT team that supports our Windows Hosted Desktops.
• Managing the “Techteam” support group, prioritizing several open cases at one time
• Installing and configuring computer hardware, operating systems and applications
• Talking staff/clients through a series of actions, either in person or over the telephone
• Troubleshooting system and network problems.
• Diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults
• Providing computer support, including procedural documentation
• Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system
• Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
