We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Inventory Controller to manage and maintain accurate stock records for our supermarket branch.

The successful candidate will be responsible for inventory accuracy, receiving controls, stock movements, expiry monitoring, cycle counts, variance investigation, and inventory reporting.

• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records across all supermarket departments.
• Verify goods received against purchase orders, supplier invoices, and delivery notes.
• Ensure all Goods Received Notes (GRNs) are prepared and entered into the system accurately and on time.
• Check item quantities, prices, barcodes, batch numbers, expiry dates, and product conditions during receiving.
• Coordinate with the receiving, purchasing, accounts, warehouse, and store operations teams.
• Conduct daily spot checks, cycle counts, monthly stock counts, and annual physical inventory.
• Compare physical stock with system stock and investigate inventory variances.
• Identify and correct negative stock, duplicate entries, incorrect units of measurement, and system discrepancies.
• Control all stock transfers, returns, adjustments, damages, wastage, and write-offs.
• Ensure no stock movement is completed without proper documentation and authorization.
• Monitor near-expiry, expired, damaged, slow-moving, and non-moving products.
• Ensure FIFO and FEFO methods are correctly followed, particularly for food and perishable products.
• Coordinate supplier returns for damaged, short-supplied, excess, or near-expiry products.
• Monitor stock availability and highlight potential stock-outs or overstock situations.
• Review inventory ageing and recommend actions for slow-moving and excess stock.
• Investigate causes of stock loss, shrinkage, incorrect receiving, and pricing discrepancies.
• Verify stock adjustments and obtain approval before updating inventory records.
• Maintain proper records of purchase orders, invoices, delivery notes, GRNs, supplier returns, stock transfers, and write-offs.
• Support internal and external inventory audits by providing accurate records and explanations.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports for management.
• Report inventory accuracy, stock variance, shrinkage, expiry, wastage, negative stock, and stock ageing.
• Work closely with the IT or ERP support team to resolve system-related inventory issues.
• Ensure compliance with company inventory procedures, food safety requirements, and internal controls.
• Recommend improvements to inventory processes to reduce stock losses and increase accuracy.

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as an Inventory Controller, Inventory Executive, Stock Controller, or similar role.
• Previous experience in a supermarket, hypermarket, FMCG, food trading, retail, or grocery environment is strongly preferred.
• Good understanding of purchasing, receiving, GRN processing, stock transfers, supplier returns, stock adjustments, and write-offs.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control methods, including FIFO, FEFO, cycle counting, stock reconciliation, and inventory ageing.
• Experience handling perishable, chilled, frozen, dry, and non-food products is preferred.
• Ability to investigate stock discrepancies and identify their root causes.
• Experience using ERP, POS, inventory management, or warehouse management systems.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIF, stock reconciliation, and report preparation.
• Good numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with purchasing, receiving, accounts, warehouse, and store operations teams.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of Arabic, Hindi, Malayalam, or Persian would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of UAE supermarket operations and food safety requirements would be an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple inventory-related priorities.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
• Must be physically able to participate in stock counts and inspect products in storage and retail areas.
• Candidates currently available in the UAE are preferred.
