Role Summary
The Inventory Accountant is responsible for managing and reconciling inventory records, ensuring accurate stock valuation, and supporting financial reporting related to inventory.
The role works closely with warehouse, procurement, and finance teams to maintain accuracy and control over stock movements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records across systems
- Perform regular stock reconciliations (physical vs system)
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Monitor stock movements, adjustments, and transfers
- Ensure correct inventory valuation in line with accounting standards
- Prepare inventory-related reports for management
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Work with operations/warehouse teams to improve stock control processes
- Track slow-moving, obsolete, or damaged stock and recommend actions
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–5 years experience in inventory or cost accounting (retail/FMCG preferred)
- Strong understanding of inventory systems and ERP software
- Good analytical and reconciliation skills
- Attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies
- Experience working with high-volume stock environments
- Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED3,500.00 per month
