Intervention Specialist (Behavior Interventionist)

• Bachelor’s level degree is required. A Bachelor's degree in fields such as: Social Work, Psychology, (Special) Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a related field is preferred; however, candidates with alternative Bachelor's level degrees may also be considered qualified if there has been an appropriate emphasis placed on Health & Human Services coursework following a review of credits achieved (as part of the candidate's transcript).
• Knowledge of behavior management principles applied behavior analysis (ABA), and positive behavior support (PBS) strategies
• Familiarity with assessment tools and data collection methods used in behavior analysis
• Minimum of 12 months of supervised experience with children who have developmental disabilities
• Clean criminal history background check
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with individuals, families, and a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, utilizing crisis intervention techniques when necessary
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical standards
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required, depending on the job location and travel requirements
• Certified in CPR/First-Aid. We can help you obtain this certification!

• Timeliness and effectiveness of communication with team members regarding progress, concerns, and strategies.
• Active participation in team meetings, case conferences, and collaborative problem-solving sessions.
• Crisis Management and De-escalation
• Response time and effectiveness in managing crisis situations.
• Utilization of approved de-escalation techniques to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals and others involved.
• Feedback from team members on crisis intervention skills and strategies.
• Training and Education
• Feedback from individuals, families, and caregivers regarding the quality and usefulness of training provided.
• Assessment of knowledge transfer and implementation of behavior management techniques and strategies by stakeholders.
