About the Role

The International Material Planner sits within JCB Group Logistics and supports warehousing and international supply chain activities for UK manufacturing business units.

The role helps ensure material supply meets production schedules while working with internal stakeholders and the Lead Logistics Partner.

The logistics operation manages up to 60 containers delivered and offloaded each day into the warehouse.

Core Responsibilities

  • Schedule components to meet production requirements while maintaining minimal safety stock levels.
  • Manage risks and follow up on material shortages that could affect production schedules.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Generate and communicate supplier material delivery schedules and forecasts.
  • Maintain supplier relationships and ensure material demand is met through on-time deliveries.
  • Resolve supplier concerns and evaluate supplier performance.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and contribute ideas for change.
  • Understand vessel schedules and their impact on supply.
  • Work collaboratively with the Lead Logistics Partner.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in strategic material planning in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of container management.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Sound ERP/MRP understanding.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to plan and deliver against deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure and build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • SAP experience is desirable but not essential.
  • The role suits someone assertive, optimistic, resilient, organised, results-oriented, and open to change.
