Internal Posting Date: 09/11/2026 Internal Closing Date: 09/17/2026 Target Start Date: 10/05/2026 Internal applicants please submit your application through this job posting by 12:00PM on 09/17/2026 Location: Rosedale Centre, 25 Erindale Ave, Hamilton, ON L8K 4R2 Total Hours per Week: 27.75 (including 1.5 programming time) Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 8:30 am and 2:15 pm to 6:00 pm Pay Rate (per Collective Agreement, includes wage grants): Non RECE: $26.35 per hour RECE: $28.00 per hour About the Role As a Before and After School Educator, your primary responsibility is to be present for children and their families while developing and implementing programs that meet their developmental needs and interests. You will create meaningful play experiences, provide healthy snacks, supervise outdoor and indoor activities, and ensure the safety and well-being of children in your care.

Duties

vary by centre, but your role always includes supporting children, assisting colleagues, and contributing to a welcoming and well-organized environment.

Key Responsibilities

Greet children and families with warmth and professionalism
Support children as they transition from home to program, including self-regulation and social engagement
Engage children in meaningful activities using a programming cart of materials
Provide morning snacks, ensuring children wash hands and eat safely
Help children tidy up and prepare for their school day, including outdoor play as appropriate
Set up and facilitate activities aligned with How Does Learning Happen?
