Great Plains Manufacturing, a Kubota Company, is currently taking applications for our 2027 Summer Internship Program. These internships will be on-site in the Salina, KS area.
Our Summer Interns work full-time from Mid-May to Early-August and earn $20 per hour. Engineering interns enjoy a 4-day work week with a work schedule of Monday to Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Housing is provided for interns who currently reside outside the Salina, KS area.
Each of our Summer Interns complete a project with a mentor and supportive peers, allowing them to apply their college knowledge in the workplace and gain practical work experience. We also organize activities during the summer to give you the opportunity to get to know other interns and Great Plains employees through casual events like laser tag, paintball, bowling, and community events.
Our Lean Engineer Interns will be assigned to one of our facilities in the Salina, KS area and work on a project in Lean Engineering as it relates to manufacturing agricultural or construction equipment.
Required Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Ag Systems or other relevant Engineering major
Willingness to live within commuting distance of the assigned location, typically in the Salina, KS or Abilene, KS area for the duration of the Summer Housing will be provided within a 20-mile radius of your assigned location, if needed.

Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours/week) during the Summer
Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening test within a week of your first day of employment
Providing, upon your first day of employment, satisfactory proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States, and your completion of an Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to the Salina, KS area and commute to and from work and activities throughout the Summer

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Completed at least 30 credit hours by beginning of internship
Self-motivated with good project management, organization and planning skills
Ability to communicate plans and information in a concise, effective manner in both verbal and written forms
