Intern, Backend Software Engineer - Team Interstellar - Winter 2027

About the Role

Your Responsibilities

• Write backend code to meet story acceptance criteria.
• Build and maintain high-volume APIs and ETL data pipelines.
• Write automated tests and integrate them into deployment pipelines.
• Participate in code reviews, design sessions, and Agile ceremonies.
• Collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders to implement new system features.

Basic Qualifications

• Will obtain a Bachelor’s degree or higher from December 2026 or later.
• Familiarity with backend application development and APIs.
• Good communication, presentation, and writing skills.
• Good understanding of testing fundamentals.
• Able to work within a team setting and actively participate in team discussions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with backend languages such as Java, TypeScript, or Python.
• Experience with version control technology (Git).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) or CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working with databases or data pipelines.

Working at Capital One

The expected annual salary for this position is between $45,000 to $85,000.
