Intermediate Water/Wastewater Engineer

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment commonly used in water/wastewater facilities (e.g., pumps, blowers, mixers, chemical feed systems, valves, and piping systems) Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams—including process, mechanical, civil, electrical, and I&C engineers—to contribute to integrated design solutions.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing deadlines, and support adherence to budgets and schedules.
• Demonstrated engineering judgment and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify design challenges and propose practical solutions.
• Clear grasp of engineering concepts and the ability to translate technical idea into drawings, specifications or written communication for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Effective communication and coordination skills, with the ability to discuss project issues professionally with the contractor, project team and clients.
• Strong presentation, technical writing, and interpersonal skills, supporting participation in design reviews, client meetings, and construction discussions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, or process modeling software (e.g., BioWin, GPS ‑ X, AFT Fathom) is considered an asset.
• Holds a valid Ontario Class G drivers’ license.
• Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Process, Environmental, or Civil Engineering from an accredited institution or similar education with relevant experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of water and wastewater engineering related work experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain within 12 months is preferred.
• Typical office environment working with computers and sitting at a desk. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Our group operates under a hybrid work strategy with work expectations being a combination of work from home and in-office support. Applicants for this role will be expected to spend a majority of their work week on projects within the Windsor Ontario geography but may be located remotely if willing to travel.
