Intermediate Technical Business Analyst - Investment Banking

Work model and location

• The role is based in downtown Montreal, Quebec, with a hybrid arrangement.
• The position starts with five days in the office for the first three months, then moves to three onsite days and two days from home each week.

Compensation and employment

• The role is described as full-time and permanent.
• The stated salary is CAD 75,000 to CAD 80,000 plus up to a 9% performance bonus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements, functions, and processes in fixed-income and equity securities processing.
• Assess tactical and strategic solution approaches, including cost estimates and implementation timelines.
• Coordinate workshops, document requirements, and obtain sponsor signoffs.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications for development teams.
• Coordinate test plans and user acceptance criteria.
• Analyze test results with end users and participate in documentation and review sessions.
• Contribute to architecture design aligned with information systems strategy.

Mandatory qualifications

• Business analysis experience in investment banking technology supporting securities and cash products.
• Experience with equity and fixed-income settlement and clearance.
• IT project management experience.
• Ability to work with Front Office, Accounting, and Risk stakeholders.
• Advanced development-team experience and strong SDLC knowledge, especially Agile.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
• Ability to lead project teams.

Preferred qualifications

• Additional experience supporting securities and cash products in investment banking technology.
• Experience leading large-scale technology transformation initiatives.
• Advanced knowledge of strategic solution design and enterprise architecture practices.
