In support of the University's mission, the Intermediate Systems Engineer administers, supports, and continuously improves the University's enterprise infrastructure and assigned portfolio of mission-critical technology services.
This role ensures enterprise and operational technology services remain reliable, secure, resilient, well documented, and supportable while serving as the primary technical service owner and point of contact for assigned technology services.
The position also requires on-call support and flexibility to respond to technology needs across campus.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, required.
Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field, preferred.
Relevant industry certifications in Microsoft, VMware, Azure, networking, cybersecurity, enterprise infrastructure, cloud technologies, or related technical disciplines.
3+ year’s experience supporting enterprise technologies such as: Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Identity and Access Management, Microsoft Azure, VMware or Hyper-V, Enterprise storage, Backup and disaster recovery, Enterprise monitoring, Automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
serving as the primary technical liaison between technical and business stakeholders.
supporting mission-critical operational technologies such as: Emergency notification systems, Physical access control systems, Video surveillance systems, Emergency communications systems, Dispatch technologies, Radio communications infrastructure, Credential management systems, Intercom systems, and Other operational technology platforms.
This role requires travel to remote campuses, participation in on-call rotations, on-campus response during critical situations, and flexibility for non-standard work hours, with a strong focus on effective communication during on-call incidents.
