Stantec is currently searching for an experienced Mining/Civil Field Technologist. This is a non-exempt position; any overtime hours worked will be remunerated based on provincial employment regulations. Under the supervision of the Operations Support Manager, the candidate is responsible for completing operations maintenance and surveillance monitoring tasks for earthen structures at active mine sites and civil earthwork projects. This position will work independently in the field with support from their functional manager and Project Manager.
This is primarily a field-based position which may include some office rotations. Work schedules will be based on project specific requirements and will require frequent rotations of 12-hour shifts (day/night), as well as travel to remote field locations including Northern Canada. Travel hours and expenses incurred while travelling to and from the project will only be covered from approved locations (Calgary, Vancouver, Saskatoon and Edmonton).

Professional designation with either the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET) or the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC (ASTTBC) is considered an asset
Prior experience working in Northern Canada is considered an asset
Familiarity with construction equipment would be an asset
Ability to read design drawings would be considered an asset
