We are seeking an Intermediate Land Development Engineer within our Community Development team ideally based in our Halifax, Moncton, Fredericton, or Charlottetown offices. As an Intermediate Land Development Engineer, you will perform a variety of tasks including project design work, assisting with proposals, liaising with clients, and some project management. It is expected that you will be self-motivated possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills, be eager to learn and will possess good general computer skills. Attention to detail and accuracy are required assets.

Has well-developed understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of civil engineering design, including gravity and pressure systems, geotechnical, survey, storm water/drainage design, road design, erosion and sediment control, and grading.
Possesses excellent time management skills; thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting and efficient use of time and resources.
Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agencies.
Thorough understanding of codes, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions.
Well-developed understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
Strong knowledge of civil systems, means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and AutoCAD.
Proficiency with engineering model software such as H2OMAP, Infoworks, EPASWMM, XPSWMM, SWMHYMO, PCSWMM, etc. is considered an asset.
Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
Ability to administer and inspect construction activities.
Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Able to work in a team environment.
Supervising and mentoring junior staff across a range of technical and professional development levels.
Coordinating with engineers, technical staff and/or team members in various disciplines to ensure that the projects’ needs are met in a timely and effective manner.
Serving as a technical expert during liaison with landowners, municipal/agency staff, and other stakeholders.
Use of a vehicle and valid driver’s license.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential.
Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university program.
Registered as a Professional Engineer.
At least 5 years’ experience in land development projects is strongly preferred.
