Requirements
- As an Intermediate/Design Engineer, you will take an active role in the delivery of a variety of building projects across the UK, across a range of sectors including residential, education, commercial development, leisure, net zero/low carbon and regeneration. You will have the opportunity to work alongside industry experts with a variety of engineering and consultancy skills to provide integrated coordinated designs with high profile private and public-sector clients and collaborators within an award winning practice.
Day-to-day task and expectations
· Provide engineering discipline design, analysis, calculation and drawing input
· Undertaking engineering design and analysis while being supervised by others, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards
· Identifying problems and opportunities, assessing and resolving problems using qualitative and quantitative measures, while being supervised by others
· Conduct feasibility studies, cost estimates, and risk assessments for proposed designs
· Collaborate with project stakeholders, including architects, structural engineers, and contractors, to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly
· Input into the production of high quality written reports on a range of projects
· Preparation, presentation and self-checking of technical data, drawings and tenders, under the supervision of others and taking part in reviews by others of your work
· Use of industry standard analysis and calculation software
· Being part of internal reviews
· Self-checking and checking others’ work
· Ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations, such as IEEE, NEC, IEC, and local building codes.
· Compliance with the duties of Designer under the CDM Regulations 2015
· Compliance with the practice QMS, including self-checking
