Your main responsibilities
- Lead and support electrical engineering design for Building Services team including: commercial , institutional , and industrial facilities.
- Prepare detailed design documents including calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Model electrical power systems (up to 750V) using tools such as SKM.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in project meetings.
- Conduct site assessments and construction reviews to verify compliance with design requirements.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technologists.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, cost estimates, and client communications.
- What makes you unique
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
- Registered with APEGA or ASET .
- P.Eng or P.Tech.(Eng.) certification is required.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical engineering,
- Familiarity in the following categories would be beneficial:
- Commercial and/or Industrial Building electrical designs
- Distribution and backup power systems
- Security, door access, CCTV system understanding
- Familiarity with Alberta Infrastructure and/or Defense Construction Canada design requirements.
- AutoCAD, Revit, SKM and/or ETAP experience would be an asset
- Experience with electrical power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security, communications, and control systems.
- Strong understanding of Canadian Electrical Code, National Building Code and applicable industry standards.
- Proven ability to coordinate small or medium design packages .
