Duties & Responsibilities
- Impact and Responsibilities:
- Assist project teams in designing electrical systems for various building facilities under the supervision of a Senior Electrical Designer / Electrical Engineer.
- Apply your working knowledge of electrical design and supporting calculations, including: Single line drawings Feeder sizing Panel and distribution board sizing Motor control schedules Fault and voltage drop calculations

- Design systems for power distribution, lighting (indoor and outdoor), power generation, controls, life safety (e.g., fire alarm, public address, nurse call), voice/data communications, basic security/CCTV systems, and lighting calculations.
- Check drawings for dimensional and graphic accuracy, design suitability, and adherence to drawing standards.
- Prepare drawings in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Interface with clients, contractors, and sales reps.
- Prepare project documentation and coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
- Conduct site visits, reviews, and assist with contract administration.
- Lead an internal team through multiple projects concurrently.
- Work collaboratively with clients to meet project needs.
Requirements
- Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of related professional experience preferred.
- Background as an Engineer-in-Training, Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.), Technologist-in-Training, or Electrician is a strong asset.
- Electrical Journeyman certificate within Alberta or an inter-provincial seal is considered a strong asset.
- Experience in commercial, retail, office, residential, and institutional projects.
- Working knowledge and understanding of provincial and federal electrical and building codes.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and share ideas.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
