About the Role
Join UMQ Design's growing design team as an Interior Designer.
Develop compelling interior design concepts based on client requirements and project objectives.
Combine creativity, technical knowledge, client communication, and design development from initial discussions through presentation and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop interior concepts, layouts, space plans, and visual solutions for client projects.
- Meet clients, understand their needs, present proposals, and adapt concepts based on feedback.
- Prepare 2D and 3D presentations, mood boards, mock-ups, renderings, drawings, and design details.
- Develop material palettes, finishes, furniture selections, and other design elements.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, project teams, and execution teams to maintain design intent.
- Prepare or assist with quotations and follow workflow through design development and execution.
- Conduct design research, attend required site visits, manage deadlines, and maintain organized documentation.
- Handle client and project information professionally and confidentially.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture, fine arts, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in interior design, fit-out, or 3D visualization.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating concepts, space planning, visualization, and creative development.
- Proficiency in detailed interior design drawings and software including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Experience with 3D rendering and visualization tools is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, furniture, scale, proportion, composition, perspective, color theory, and visual storytelling.
- Excellent client communication, presentation, organizational, time-management, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.

- Client communication and presentation, concept development, space planning, interior architecture, and 2D/3D visualization.
- Mood boards, material selection, technical drawings, interior styling, creative problem solving, design research, and trend awareness.
- Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, SketchUp, rendering, visualization, and project coordination.
