Role Overview
WSP is seeking an Interior Design Engineer to join its supervision team in Saudi Arabia.
The role oversees execution of interior design and fit-out works on site.
The position requires a strong technical background, site supervision expertise, and coordination with contractors, consultants, clients, and multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Supervise interior design and fit-out works for compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor workmanship, materials, and construction activities.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, mock-ups, samples, method statements, and construction methodologies.
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, structural engineers, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor progress, provide technical support, and report on quality and potential risks.
- Identify non-conformances, support corrective actions, and ensure interior finishing works meet client expectations.
- Verify completed works and participate in snagging, testing, commissioning, handover, and close-out documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Minimum eight years of experience in interior design and site supervision, preferably on large-scale building projects.
- Previous supervision or construction management experience in the Middle East, preferably Saudi Arabia.
- Strong knowledge of interior finishes, fit-out construction methods, materials, and detailing.
- Experience reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with international standards, Saudi building regulations, and quality assurance procedures.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, and other relevant design and project management software.
- Excellent communication, coordination, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Fluent English is required; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
Workplace
- Interior design and fit-out supervision is performed on construction sites in Saudi Arabia.
