Role Description
An Interior Design Assistant supports designers and project teams in developing, organizing, and delivering residential, commercial, hospitality, and other interior design projects.
The role supports projects from initial concept through completion, including design development, documentation, procurement, coordination, and handover.
The position may involve site visits and project locations when required.
Design and Documentation
- Assist with design concepts, proposals, mood boards, material boards, color palettes, layouts, and presentations.
- Prepare or organize floor plans, elevations, drawings, specifications, schedules, project files, and final design packages under appropriate supervision.
- Research design styles, materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, fixtures, products, suppliers, and pricing.
- Assist with space planning and furniture layouts based on project requirements.
Procurement and Coordination
- Request and organize samples, product specifications, catalogs, quotations, and supplier details.
- Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, furniture vendors, manufacturers, project managers, architects, engineers, and consultants.
