We are seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Manager to lead IP strategy, portfolio management, and protection initiatives. The role involves overseeing patents, trademarks, copyrights, licensing, and compliance while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement intellectual property strategies, policies, and governance frameworks aligned with organizational objectives, innovation goals, and legal requirements
- Manage the organization's intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, domain names, and related intellectual assets
- Collaborate with research and development, engineering, product management, legal, compliance, marketing, business development, and executive leadership to identify, evaluate, and protect new intellectual property opportunities
- Oversee patent and trademark filing processes, prosecution activities, renewals, maintenance, oppositions, licensing agreements, and portfolio optimization initiatives in partnership with external legal counsel and regulatory authorities
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including patent filings, trademark registrations, licensing revenue, portfolio value, IP enforcement activities, innovation pipeline, and compliance performance
- Conduct intellectual property risk assessments, freedom to operate (FTO) analyses, prior art reviews, competitive patent landscape assessments, and due diligence activities for strategic initiatives and business transactions
- Develop and manage IP licensing, technology transfer, commercialization, joint development, confidentiality, and intellectual property ownership agreements
- Ensure compliance with applicable intellectual property laws, international treaties, contractual obligations, confidentiality requirements, and organizational governance policies
- Monitor industry developments, competitor patent activity, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to identify opportunities and mitigate intellectual property risks
- Utilize Intellectual Property Management Systems (IPMS), document management platforms, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, legal research tools, and analytics platforms to manage intellectual property operations and reporting
- Prepare portfolio analyses, executive reports, innovation metrics, licensing summaries, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop intellectual property specialists, legal coordinators, innovation teams, and cross functional stakeholders while fostering a culture of innovation, integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Engineering, Science, Business Administration, Technology Management, or related field preferred
- Juris Doctor (JD), Master's degree, or professional qualifications in Intellectual Property Law, Patent Law, Technology Management, or equivalent highly advantageous
- 5+ years of experience in intellectual property management, patent administration, legal affairs, innovation management, technology commercialization, or related roles
- 2+ years of experience managing intellectual property portfolios, licensing programs, or IP strategy initiatives preferred
- Strong understanding of patent law, trademark law, copyright law, trade secret protection, licensing, intellectual property enforcement, technology commercialization, and innovation management principles
- Experience with Intellectual Property Management Systems (IPMS), legal research platforms, document management systems, ERP platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, and portfolio management tools
- Familiarity with international intellectual property treaties, patent prosecution, technology transfer, mergers and acquisitions due diligence, open innovation, and research commercialization is advantageous
- Strong analytical, legal, strategic thinking, negotiation, organizational, and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, contract review, presentation, and cross functional collaboration abilities
- Ability to balance legal protection, commercial objectives, innovation strategy, and business growth while managing a diverse intellectual property portfolio
