The Position: The Red Hat Linux Systems Engineer (Journeyman) provides Tier II system administration and operational support for Linux-based environments supporting Joint Staff Command and Control (C2) systems.

This role ensures system availability, performance, and security within a classified enterprise environment while supporting both primary and contingency operations.

• Administer, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and resource utilization.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and OS-level issues.
• Apply patches, upgrades, and security updates in compliance with change management.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Support backup, recovery, and system restoration processes.
• Maintain system logs and ensure audit and compliance requirements are met.
• Support integration with enterprise storage and infrastructure systems.
• Collaborate with network, database, and application teams to ensure system reliability.
• Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
