About the Role
Samsara seeks an Installation Engineer to oversee customer deployments of IoT hardware, provide onsite support, and manage installation partners. The role requires 5+ years of vehicle/hardware technology experience, strong project management skills, and extensive travel.

Responsibilities
- Define installation best practices for the EMEA organisation
- Assist partners in building project specific installation guides and deliver onsite training
- Coordinate with installation partners to ensure work is completed on time, on budget, and to quality standards
- Identify risks early, propose mitigation strategies, and serve as point of contact for escalations
- Provide onsite oversight for large or complex deployments
- Perform first of kind installations on complex customer projects
- Capture lessons learned from each project to improve processes
- Collaborate with internal teams to escalate and share feedback
Requirements
- 5+ years experience managing vehicle and/or hardware technology
- Prior vehicle installation or fitter experience
- Understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems including CAN bus and PTO
- Confident in electronic & system integration and specification
- Experience in field operations coordination, implementation, and technical deployment
- Strong attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects in parallel
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Must have valid driver's license and be insurable

About the role

In this role, you will
- Define installation best practices for the EMEA organisation

- Coordinate with installation partners to ensure work is completed on time, on budget, and to Samsara’s quality standards
- Identify risks early, propose mitigation strategies, and keep projects on track
- Provide onsite oversight for large or complex deployments
- Perform first of kind installations on complex customer projects
- Capture lessons learned from each project to improve processes
- Collaborate with internal teams to escalate, share feedback, and enhance the installation experience
Minimum requirements for the role
- 5+ years experience managing vehicle and/or hardware technology
- Prior vehicle installation or fitter experience
- Understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems, including CAN bus and PTO
- Confident in electronic & system integration and specification
- Experience in field operations coordination, implementation, and technical deployment
- Interest in AI with the view to create tooling to operate at scale
- Strong attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects in parallel
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Must have valid driver's license and be insurable
An ideal candidate also has
- Experience with tachographs
- Can develop professional customer facing documentation with diagrams
- Strong bias for standardisation & automation
- Strong problem solving skills and continuous improvement mindset
- Familiarity or hands on experience with AI tools to drive operational efficiency
