- Conduct on site inspection of Telecom & IT systems installations (fiber optic cables, networking equipment, telecom rooms, etc.)
- Ensure all installations comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, and project standards
- Monitor contractor activities and verify adherence to safety and quality standards
- Inspect systems including structured cabling, fiber optic networks, CCTV, PIS, PA, access control, and security systems
- Verify testing, commissioning, and integration of systems
- Prepare inspection reports, non conformance reports (NCRs), and daily activity logs
- Review method statements, shop drawings, and material submittals
- Maintain accurate records of inspection activities and findings
- Witness and validate testing & commissioning activities for telecom and IT systems
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders to resolve issues
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics, IT, or related field
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Telecom & IT inspection, preferably in transportation projects (metro, rail, airport, or ITS)
- Knowledge of telecom infrastructure and cabling systems
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, switches, routers)
- Knowledge of low current systems (CCTV, access control, PA systems)
- Familiarity with testing tools (OTDR, cable testers, network analyzers)
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards (TIA/EIA, ISO, IEC)
- Attention to detail and strong observational skills
- Good communication and reporting abilities
- Ability to work in a fast paced site environment

Overview
- The Inspector Telecom & IT is responsible for inspecting, monitoring, and ensuring the quality and compliance of telecommunications and IT systems deployed in transportation projects.
Your role
- Inspection & Quality Assurance: Conduct on site inspection of Telecom & IT systems installations.
- Ensure all installations comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, and project standards.
- Monitor contractor activities and verify adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Telecom & IT Systems Oversight: Inspect systems including structured cabling, fiber optic networks, CCTV, PIS, PA, access control, and security systems.
- Verify testing, commissioning, and integration of systems.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare inspection reports, NCRs, and daily activity logs.
- Review method statements, shop drawings, and material submittals.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection activities and findings.
- Testing & Commissioning Support: Witness and validate testing & commissioning activities.
- Ensure proper documentation of test results and system performance.
- Coordination: Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders.
- Support project engineers in tracking progress and closing inspection comments.
About you
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics, IT, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience in Telecom & IT inspection, preferably in transportation projects.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of telecom infrastructure, networking fundamentals, low current systems.
- Familiarity with testing tools (OTDR, cable testers, network analyzers) and industry standards (TIA/EIA, ISO, IEC).
- Domain Knowledge: Understanding of transportation systems and operations; familiarity with ITS is an advantage.
- Soft Skills: Attention to detail, strong observational skills, good communication and reporting abilities, ability to work in fast paced site environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in transportation projects or large infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of SCADA, AFC, or signaling system interfaces.
- Certification in telecom/networking (e.g., CCNA) is a plus.
- Familiarity with safety standards and site compliance requirements.
