AECOM is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Inspector in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The role supports mechanical construction quality and safety across building projects through inspection, compliance verification, and project-team coordination.
Responsibilities
- Inspect HVAC, plumbing, electrical-mechanical components, and related systems on building construction projects.
- Verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and UAE building codes.
- Identify defects, non-conformances, and deviations from project requirements.
- Prepare inspection reports with photographic evidence, findings, and recommendations.
- Communicate findings to project managers, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Coordinate remediation and re-inspect corrected work.
- Maintain inspection records and digital documentation using construction management software.
- Perform quality checks before mechanical system handover.
- Monitor applicable codes, standards, and construction best practices.
- Collaborate with inspectors and project teams on consistent quality standards.
- Contribute process improvements for inspection efficiency.
Qualifications
- Minimum eight years of professional experience in mechanical inspection, quality assurance, or related building construction roles.
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and related mechanical building systems.
Workplace
- The work location model is on-site.
- New hires must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location.
