Role Overview

AECOM is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Inspector in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The role supports mechanical construction quality and safety on building construction projects.

The inspector will verify compliance, document findings, and coordinate quality improvements through the construction lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect HVAC, plumbing, electromechanical, and related mechanical systems on building construction projects.
  • Verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, UAE building codes, and applicable regulations.
  • Identify defects, non-conformances, and deviations, then document findings with photographic evidence and recommendations.
  • Communicate findings to project managers, contractors, and stakeholders and coordinate remediation and re-inspections.
  • Maintain inspection records and digital documentation using construction management software.
  • Perform quality assurance checks before project handover.
  • Stay current with relevant codes, standards, and UAE construction practices.
  • Collaborate with project teams and contribute process improvements to inspection activities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in mechanical inspection, quality assurance, or related building construction roles.
  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and related building systems.

Onboarding Requirement

  • Newly hired employees must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
