The Role
Design and operate the telemetry backbone for internal platforms and business-critical applications.
Cover metrics, logs, traces, synthetics, real user monitoring, and event correlation to improve reliability and employee experience.
What You’ll Do
- Define observability standards for metrics, logs, traces, profiling, OpenTelemetry collectors, exporters, and context propagation.
- Establish golden signals, SLIs, SLOs, health checks, automated baselining, and anomaly detection for priority services.
- Create dashboards, service health views, and dependency maps for applications, networks, collaboration tools, HRIS, and integrations.
- Develop alerting policy as code, reduce false positives, and implement suppression, deduplication, and auto-remediation runbooks.
- Partner with Incident and Problem Management to accelerate triage, reduce MTTR, and drive RCAs and prevention actions.
- Connect observability with CI/CD, feature flags, incident tooling, CMDB, service catalogs, Slack, and Zoom.
- Coach teams on instrumentation patterns, trace context, and SLO thinking while contributing reusable modules and templates.
- Lead telemetry hygiene, monitoring cost optimization, performance tuning, and controls for sensitive monitoring data.
What You Bring
- 4–8 years in observability, SRE, platform, or monitoring roles supporting SaaS or enterprise applications.
