Role overview
Support the security, accreditation, and continuous monitoring of mission-critical collection systems in complex classified environments.
Integrate security throughout the system development lifecycle and help shape current and next-generation system architectures.
Work onsite 100% of the time in Sterling, Virginia, with up to 25% travel and possible domestic or international travel.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with software, systems, network, and DevOps engineers to integrate cybersecurity requirements throughout the SDLC.
- Lead and support A&A activities to achieve and maintain ATO under RMF.
- Partner with ISSOs, ISSMs, and AOs to navigate accreditation efforts and resolve compliance findings.
- Develop and update SSPs, SARs, SCTMs, POA&Ms, and security test plans and procedures.
- Conduct security control assessments aligned with ICD 503, NIST 800-53, CNSSI, and DoD requirements.
- Implement system hardening and security baselines using DISA STIGs and industry best practices.
- Execute and analyze DISA SCAP scans, vulnerability assessments, and compliance audits.
- Coordinate remediation with development and infrastructure teams.
- Support continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, patch compliance, and security reporting.
- Evaluate architectures, network designs, software releases, and infrastructure changes for security impacts.
