Role Overview
Barracuda is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Information Security Engineer with an application security focus.
The role supports the organization’s security posture through application security, risk management, security operations, and cross-functional collaboration.
This is a security generalist role with opportunities to develop into specialized information security and cybersecurity disciplines.
Application Security Responsibilities
- Support application security activities across design, development, testing, release, and post-release review.
- Identify, document, and track application security risks such as insecure design, weak access control, exposed secrets, vulnerable components, and misconfigurations.
- Review findings, coordinate with owners, and track remediation or accepted exceptions through closure.
- Support threat modeling involving assets, data flows, trust boundaries, misuse scenarios, and security requirements.
- Promote awareness of OWASP Top 10 risks, secure coding, authentication, authorization, input validation, data protection, and secure configuration.
- Maintain risk, remediation, ownership, exception, timeline, and follow-up documentation.
- Support secure design and security review discussions for new features, changes, integrations, and higher-risk workflows.
