Location: Washington, D.C., Kansas Or Remote
Key Responsibilities
- Perform system monitoring and vulnerability scans in support of VA security policies.
- Develop and maintain security documentation under the guidance of senior staff.
- Assist in incident response activities, including evidence collection and reporting.
- Support the execution of Security Control Assessments (SCAs) and remediation activities.
- Ensure compliance with access control, encryption, patching, and configuration management requirements.
- Document findings, maintain logs, and update the Risk Management Framework repository.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- 5 years of IT security or information assurance experience.
- Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53, VA TRM standards, and HIPAA requirements.
- Industry certification (e.g., Security+, CEH, or equivalent) preferred.
