Job summary
Industrial Production Engineer role focused on wood manufacturing, furniture and cabinetry assembly lines, and factory operations.
The role optimizes shop-floor workflows, reduces wood waste, improves output quality, and maintains factory safety standards.
The position reports to the Plant Manager or Production Director.
Key responsibilities
- Optimize wood cutting, sanding, edge-banding, and finishing workflows to reduce cycle times and material waste.
- Optimize factory layouts for CNC routers, panel saws, and press machines, and establish assembly-line SOPs.
- Lead Lean, 5S, and Kaizen initiatives across cutting, assembly, and spray-painting or varnishing stages.
- Ensure timber, veneers, hardware, and finished products meet specifications.
- Enforce dust-control and wood-shop safety compliance.
- Monitor machine efficiency, troubleshoot machinery issues, and calculate yield rates.
- Track production targets, scrap and waste rates, and labor hours, then report metrics to management.
Requirements and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Two to five years of experience in a wood, furniture, or joinery manufacturing plant.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, WoodWOP, or Cabinet Vision for shop drawings and cut-list preparation.
- Hands-on knowledge of CNC machines, edge banders, beam saws, and painting lines.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and yield optimization for timber and wood panels.
- Strong technical problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
Technical environment
- The role works with timber, MDF, veneers, hardware, and woodworking production processes.
- Relevant equipment includes CNC routers, panel saws, press machines, edge banders, beam saws, and painting lines.
- Production metrics include OEE, yield rates, scrap and waste rates, daily targets, and labor hours.
Workplace
- The work location is in person at a woodworking manufacturing facility in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
