Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement industrial design strategies, design governance frameworks, creative standards, and product innovation roadmaps aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Lead the end to end industrial design process, including user research, concept generation, sketching, 3D modeling, prototyping, design validation, manufacturing support, and product launch activities.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Research & Development, Manufacturing, Marketing, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Executive Leadership to deliver successful products.
  • Drive human centered design methodologies by incorporating customer insights, usability testing, ergonomic principles, and market research into product development.
  • Oversee design reviews, design verification, material selection, color, finish, manufacturing feasibility, and product aesthetics while ensuring consistency with brand identity.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including design quality, product development timelines, customer satisfaction, manufacturing readiness, product adoption, innovation outcomes, and project delivery.
  • Evaluate emerging design trends, materials, manufacturing technologies, sustainability practices, and competitive products to identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with product safety requirements, industry standards, regulatory guidelines, intellectual property considerations, and organizational design processes.
  • Drive digital transformation through advanced computer aided design (CAD), product lifecycle management (PLM) systems, digital prototyping, virtual simulations, artificial intelligence (AI) assisted design, and workflow automation.
  • Manage relationships with design consultants, manufacturers, prototype vendors, suppliers, research partners, and external stakeholders to support product development.
  • Utilize CAD software, PLM platforms, product visualization tools, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, project management software, and collaboration platforms to manage projects and generate actionable insights.
  • Prepare design presentations, concept proposals, product development reports, executive dashboards, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or professional certifications in Industrial Design, Product Development, Design Thinking, Project Management (PMP), or related disciplines are advantageous.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial design, product design, product development, engineering design, or related roles.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing industrial design teams, product development projects, or multidisciplinary design initiatives preferred.
  • Strong understanding of industrial design principles, human centered design, ergonomics, product development, design for manufacturing (DFM), materials, prototyping, and product lifecycle management.
  • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion 360, Siemens NX, CATIA, Rhino, Creo, or equivalent, along with PLM platforms, rendering tools, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, and project management software.
  • Familiarity with additive manufacturing (3D printing), digital twins, sustainability, user experience (UX), design systems, AI powered design tools, and Industry 4.0 technologies is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, creative thinking, communication, stakeholder management, project management, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple product design initiatives while balancing innovation, functionality, manufacturability, cost, quality, and business objectives.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in remote and hybrid environments, with flexibility to support prototyping, product testing, and manufacturing activities when required.
