Indian Education Paraprofessional

DESCRIPTION: Onamia Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and highly energetic individual for the position of Indian Education Paraprofessional .

The Indian Education Paraprofessional serves under the direction of the Indian Education Director and provides instructional, behavioral, social-emotional and supervisory support to students under the direction of licensed teachers and administrators.

Working in a high-needs school environment, the paraprofessional helps create a safe, respectful, culturally responsive and academically engaging learning environment that supports student achievement and well-being.

Assignments may include general education classrooms, special education services, intervention groups, lunch/recess supervision, transportation assistance and other student support duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: Must hold AA degree or pass local standardized testing, be able to lift 50lbs. and pass criminal background check.

HOURS: 6.5 hours per day, student contact days.

Occasional required professional development days.
