Business Unit and Team
BlackRock Global Markets and Index Investments combines index investments, cash management, global trading, ETF markets, securities lending, and financing businesses.
The Index Equity team manages global index equity assets across developed markets, emerging markets, commodities, and REITs.
Job Purpose and Background
The Index Equity Technology team is expanding to improve business efficiency and scalability.
This business-side role partners with portfolio managers and technology teams to build an index investment engine.
The role acts as a quantitative developer supporting portfolio construction, optimization, trading, and risk management processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement a primarily Python-based platform for portfolio engineering algorithm development, deployment, maintenance, and monitoring.
- Maintain the algorithm ecosystem using Python engineering principles.
- Apply quantitative analysis, statistical techniques, and large-scale data processing to improve workflows and investment outcomes.
- Identify operational improvements using data analytics.
- Integrate portfolio engineering algorithms with the BlackRock technology platform.
